Startup India Registration

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has launched the Startup India Scheme to encourage newly formed companies/firms. Newly established startups can apply for recognition under the Startup India initiative. Only private limited companies, LLPs, and registered partnership firms can apply for Startup India Registration.

DPIIT-recognized startups can avail themselves of various benefits, including government subsidies, funding, tax exemptions, government procurement through tenders, EMD exemptions, self-declaration on labor laws, government tender quotas, lower fees on Intellectual Property Rights Registration, and a faster process of winding up.



Benefits of Startup India Recognition


Post Startup India Registration, a company or firm can avail the following benefits:

  • Participation in the application for the Government Startup Fund.
  • Income tax exemptions for three financial years.
  • Self-declaration under labor laws.
  • 50% rebate on government fees for trademarks, patents, etc.
  • Preference in tender bidding, free tender documents, and EMD waiver.
  • Special quota for startups in government procurement.
  • Attraction of private funding and foreign investors.
  • Faster exit and winding-up processes.
